Group Tours

Explore the Museum of Industry with your group!

  • Admission: $5.30 per person.
  • Minimum: To qualify for the group rate, a minimum of 10 paid admissions must be purchased in one transaction.
  • Type: Self-guided or guided tour (subject to availability).
  • Motorcoach tours: driver and 1 guide are admitted free.

School Groups  

School Groups, Home School & Youth Groups (i.e. Cubs, Scouts, Girl Guides, summer camps). 

  • Admission: $3.85 per student.
  • One teacher per class is admitted free.
  • Chaperone: 1 admitted free for every 5 students.
  • Extra chaperones:  $3.85 each.
  • Teaching assistants for students with special needs and the bus driver will be admitted free.

Adult Education Groups (i.e. NSCC, college) 

  • Admission: $5.30 per student.
  • 1 chaperone admitted free.

Canada Strong Pass

June 19 to September 7

We are pleased to participate in the Canada Strong Pass this summer. From June 19 to September 7, the following special admission rates apply.

  • Free admission for those 17 and under
  • 50% discount on admission for those 18 to 24 years old

Nova Scotia Museum Annual Pass

Adult Pass: $46.45 - Applies to individuals 18 years and older.

Family Pass: $91.85 - Applies to 2 adults and their children 17 years and under.

The Museum of Industry is located at 147 North Foord Steet in Stellarton, just off Highway 104 (Trans-Canada Highway), at exit 24 making it easy to reach from anywhere in Nova Scotia.

Adjacent to the scenic Samson and Albion walking trails, the museum is uniquely situated where nature and history meet. Visitors can explore the museum, enjoy a peaceful walk along the trails, or relax at picnic tables while taking in the surroundings. Interpretive panels throughout the site provide additional insights into the area’s rich industrial and natural heritage.

Set within the landscape of Nova Scotia’s coal-mining and industrial past, the museum is also close to local shops, restaurants and accommodations. Clear signage along major routes directs you to the site, and there is ample free parking for cars, buses and tour groups.

The Museum of Industry offers a welcoming gateway to discover the stories of work, innovation and the people who helped shape modern Nova Scotia.

Museum Site

The Museum of Industry can be found just off exit 24 of the Trans-Canada Highway 104 on 13 acres, once the site of two of Nova Scotia’s earliest coal mines. The rich coal mining heritage of this area is the primary reason the Museum of Industry is located here.

We are committed to continually improving accessibility at the Museum of Industry.  To support your visit at this time, we provide:

  • Accessible parking adjacent to the main entrance
  • A power-assisted main entrance door
  • Accessible and gender-neutral washrooms
  • Wheelchair-height admissions and gift shop counter
  • Ramps throughout the exhibit galleries
  • 35,000 square feet of exhibits on one level
  • Elevator access to the mezzanine level for our Coal & Grit exhibit
  • Ample seating throughout the galleries and Museum Shop
  • Spacious exhibit areas with pathways at least 4 ft wide
  • Wheelchair-height signage
  • One wheelchair available for visitor use
  • Service animals are welcome throughout the museum
