While visiting us, be sure to check out the features of our grounds. We are a national historic site dedicated to the importance of the Nova Scotia coalfields to the economic development of Canada. In addition to the commemorative plaque, we provide interpretive panels to elaborate on that history and the evidence of this coal mining heritage you can find nearby in the Town of Stellarton.
Get your group together for a game of quoits or use our picnic tables and shade trees for a picnic lunch or relaxation. We also provide an access point to the nearby Samson-Albion walking trail which is a pleasant walk along the East River. The trail winds for 8 km (5 miles) to the north end of the nearby town of New Glasgow.
